Who lessons are for

01

Kids

Ages 7 and up, at home. The first lessons are about getting a real song under their fingers quickly, so practice at home is something they want to do. Shorter lessons for younger kids, and parents are welcome to sit in.

02

Adults

Whether you have never held a guitar or you stalled out years ago, lessons are built around the songs you want to play. You leave each week knowing exactly what to practice.

03

Online

Not close enough for in-person lessons? Adam's community on Skool has a step by step path for beginners, a weekly live lesson and feedback on clips of your playing.

How lessons work

  • Start with a free trial lesson. You play something real in the first one, and you find out whether Adam is the right teacher before you pay for anything.
  • Then one lesson a week at your home, at the same day and time, so it becomes a habit. No driving across town after school.
  • Songs first. Lessons are built around music you actually want to play, and technique comes in as the songs need it.
  • A clear plan every week. You leave each lesson with a short, specific practice plan.

What you need

  • A guitar, acoustic or electric. If you do not have one yet, ask before you buy and Adam will tell you what size and type makes sense, and what is worth spending.
  • A tuner. A free tuner app on your phone is enough.
  • Ten to fifteen minutes a day. A little practice most days does more than one long session a week.

Questions

How old does my child need to be to start guitar lessons?

Most kids are ready around 7, when their hands can press the strings down and they can focus for a short lesson. If your child is younger and keen, ask, and Adam will tell you honestly whether to start now or wait a little.

I am an adult who has never played. Is it too late to learn guitar?

No. Adult beginners often move quickly because they practice with a purpose. Lessons start from zero and go at your pace.

Do you come to our house?

Yes. Lessons happen at your home, so kids learn on the guitar they will practice on and nobody has to drive. Adam covers the area listed above; if you are just outside it, ask.

Do I need my own guitar?

Yes, you will need one to practice at home. Acoustic or electric both work for beginners. Ask before you buy and Adam will point you to something sensible for your budget and size.

Should I learn on an acoustic or an electric guitar?

Either. Pick the one that sounds like the music you want to play. The first chords and songs are the same on both.

How soon will I be able to play a song?

Sooner than most people expect. Lessons start with songs that use only two or three chords, so you are playing real music early, not just exercises.

How much do guitar lessons cost?

Get in touch for current rates. The first trial lesson is free.

Do you offer online guitar lessons?

Yes, through Adam's community on Skool: a step by step path for beginners, a weekly live lesson and feedback on videos of your playing.
